Dr. Peg Dawson, the internationally recognized psychologist and author, will be leading three Saturday morning virtual sessions to help teachers gain a greater understanding of executive skills and how to integrate them through classroom lessons and activities. Be sure to sign up for each session separately. Act 48 credit available to KSLA members.
Session 1: Overview of Executive Skills

This session will 1) introduce the webinar participants to the field of executive skills; 2) describe how executive skills develop across childhood and into adulthood; and 3) will demonstrate how these skills are critical for school success.
Session 2: The Smart but Scattered Model
Saturday, November 5, 2022 10:00 am - 11:00 am
This session will present the 11 skills included in the Smart but Scattered model, dividing them into two groups, foundational skills and advanced skills. The session will also describe three strategies for supporting students with weak executive skills.
Session 3: 5 Steps for Embedding Executive Skills into classroom routines and lessons

This session will provide step-by-step instructions for incorporating executive skills into everyday classroom lessons and activities. A key emphasis will be on how teachers can introduce the language and concepts of executive skills to students.
